This one appeared in the January 10, 1995 edition of Newsday. It was an unsolicited submission and pretty much unprecedented-- Newsday does not normally accept freelance editorial cartoons. In fact, I'm quite sure that I may be the only man who ever contributed a music review, an op-ed piece, and an editorial cartoon to Newsday.

What really amused me about this cartoon appearing in Newsday was that it appeared on the same page as columns by Pulitzer Prize winners Sydney Schanberg and Jimmy Breslin.

And yes, Bernadette Castro called me for the original artwork. She was very gracious and a good sport. She had very pretty brown eyes, too.
