First gig with Cracked Magazine. I had the pleasure of working with Lou Silverston, who worked for Mad during that magazine's glory years of the late 1960s through the 1970s. He was a gentleman in every sense of the word. Silverstone explained to me that my drawing style was meant for comic strips, not magazine style stuff. So he encouraged me to write and contribute-- writer's were paid the same as artists, so that was fine with me. And he also thought I would end up a syndicated cartoonist. A nice thing to hear from a guy like Silverstone-- especially since I was about 20 years old at the time.

Unfortunately, here's an example of the printed page not translating well for the Web.
