I originally started this as a "serious three point perspective" study. I wanted to see how well I could draw a picture of a house using perspective and memory and no visual aids. I must have been about 18 years old. The pencil version of this drawing was not half-bad.
But then I lost patience. I started with cross-hatching, the death-knell for any aspiring artist.
When I started inking it, at about 1:00 AM, is when I ran into trouble. There was a Chia Pet commercial on TV and I realized that serious drawings were not my thing. I stuck the "Beware of Chia Pet" sign on it, which was my way of saying, "Serious, three-point perspective studies are not for me."
